Ubuntu: if the installer sits on “Installing”
Ubuntu’s App Center often hangs forever on downloaded .deb files — it is the store doing that, not the package. Close it and install from the terminal instead, which takes about ten seconds:
cd ~/Downloads
sudo apt install ./techdesk_*_amd64.deb
Then find TechDesk in your applications, or type techdesk.
If App Center is still stuck, cancel it first:
sudo killall appcenter, then
sudo dpkg --configure -a.
The AppImage avoids all of this — download it, right-click → Properties → tick Allow executing file as program, and double-click it. Nothing is installed and nothing can hang.
